Avast is a good anti-virushttp://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-… [Free home edition]
Avira is also a good anti-virushttp://www.free-av.com
Windows Defender is recommended in addition for FREE real-time spy-ware protection.http://www.microsoft.com/windows/product…
Download SuperAntiSpyware for user initiated scanshttp://www.superantispyware.com/superant…
Remember to only have one anti-virus installed on your PC

the BEST anti virus program i think is Kaspersky. it updates pretty regularly and you can download free keys for it.

Free:
Bitdefender, Avast or AVG
(free = does not do live scanning)
Paid:
Norton (only for people who can set it up properly)
Kapersky (a bit easier to setup)
Bitdefender (very easy to setup)

The best FREE anti virus software is AVG Free, (http://free.avg.com/). However if you do wish to fork out some cash, i recommend McAfee

Hi,
I have myself to have AVG to be the best. But i’m sure someone else can tell you more than me. But thats my suggestion.
