OpenOffice as the name suggests, is an opensource office suite and is very similar to ms word. Moreover, you can save documents in formats that are recognized by MS Office as well. OpenOffice is a more powerful application and gives the user enormous control of its tools.

OpenOffice it is. This is the next best replacement for Microsoft’s Open Suite and it is also an open source. So you can definitely expect an upgrade every now and then.
