What Is The Best Opensource Application For Linux?

e.g. GIMP? Emacs? Is there a music program based on the same model.

Probably MS Office and its Linux counterpart and apps like RealNetworks which will support Microsoft’s Windows Media formats in an upgraded version of its RealPlayer multimedia application for Linux systems scheduled for release in December.
