The software I am using is kodak easy share. It works ok but I it shrinks the files down during editing. The edited videos are unusable because the resolution is so low. Any ideas?

I need to know if there is any open source software that i can use to convert a video into multiple frames. I basically need to output a whole video int to individual jpeg files. Any thought!??!?
I actually need a way to take a movie (doesn’t matter the format) and capture frames and convert each frame to a picture.
I switched to Ubuntu from Vista and I kinda miss Pinnacle Studio. I can try installing it in Wine but I want to use opensource software. Something as similar as possible to Pinnacle Studio please and will run in Wine or Ubuntu.
