rsyslog 3.10.1 (Development branch)
Rsyslog is an enhanced multi-threaded syslogd.
Among other features, it offers support for
reliable syslog over TCP and RFC 3195, writing to
MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, fully configurable output formats (including great timestamps), the ability to filter on any part of the syslog message, and on-the-wire message compression. It is designed as a drop-in replacement for stock syslogd and thus is able to work with the same configuration file syntax. Of course, some enhanced features require changing the configuration file, but in general, this should be fairly easy.

Changes:
This version is a bug fixing and minor feature enhancement release. It fixes a race condition, some memory leaks, and some documentation bugs of 3.10.0. Performance has also been somewhat improved. Feature-wise, it offers a new disk queue mode, which in its current form is of limited usefulness. In its current form, the disk queue is of advantage for users who expect large queues, which can now be kept on disk. This release is a recommended update for all users of the v3 series.
