Any Website Which Lets Me Host My Opensource App For Free And An Easy Way To Upload My Content?

I’m currently using geocities which limits the amount of data I can download on an hourly basis. I dont want to use sourceforge as I find their upload method quite difficult.

You probably need a free webhosting like geocities, but less limited. Try looking freehostsfinder.com for comparison of free hosts, or search for any other free hosting comparison site. There you should select features you like (like upload through web interface, web space, etc) and they’ll suggest you some options.

Actually, for Sourceforge, you can just create a website in the normal way and upload your program using FTP. You’re not really forced to use the SVN or CVS system, although they recommend it.
Sign up for it, and you will receive a shell account. This is what you need to create a traditional website.
Use an FTP client that can handle SFTP (secure FTP), which Sourceforge supports. FileZilla, a free FTP program, will do fine. Set your FTP program to use SFTP instead of FTP, and you should be able to upload your program.
Check the following tutorial if you don’t know how to use Filezilla.

Also, make sure that your program is really an open source program using one of the licenses that Sourceforge allows. Your source code must be downloadable from your site.
